Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tony Evers stumped in Madison on Monday with former Obama Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
The two criticized Republican Gov. Scott Walker on health care issues, including his opposition to the Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare.”
“What I can tell you is Scott Walker has been a number one opponent, from day one he opposed the law,” Sebelius said.
“In his very brief stint running for president of the United States, he made it very clear that one of his top priorities would be to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” she added.
Evers drew contrast between himself and Walker over the issue of federal funds associated with the health care law.

“I believe that we will accept the Medicaid dollars on day one,” Evers said. “When I become governor, that’s a promise.”
Evers also took a jab at Walker on school funding. The governor’s campaign released a plan Monday that would restore two-thirds funding to Wisconsin schools. Evers said the plan is meaningless without specifics.
“That doesn’t mean anything ‘til we see a plan — ours is a two thirds funding program that’s going to invest $600 million,” Evers said.
“We will prioritize making sure that we have good health care, we’re going to make sure we have a good transportation system, and we’re going to have a good education system — K-12, as well as higher education,” Evers added.
The two gubernatorial candidates will meet for a debate Friday.
